First there were Fecal Matter, The Sellouts, Skid Row, Pen Cap Chew, Ted Ed Fred and finally NIRVANA.

The first trio under the name NIRVANA started working in 1987, consisting of: Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Aaron Burckhard. In 1990, instead of Aaron, Dave Grohl took over the drumstick.
